WELCOME

My third bedroom has been converted to a fully functional, professional teaching and recording space with 2 acoustic drum kits, a dedicated interface and my office!

This is where I conduct all of my in-person lessons.

Featuring my 4 piece Maple Custom SJC drum kit with Zildjian A Custom cymbals and double kick pedal, as well as a second 4 piece, mesh skinned teaching kit, soon to be adorned with a full set of low volume cymbals to protect little ears.

Dedicated Learning Space

2 drum kits, a practice pad for technique and stick control practice, and my favourite tool in the room; my trusty whiteboard.

This room has been set up to facilitate and enjoyable and engaging space to learn drums without distractions. Colourful LED lights, lamps and black curtains, help switch the brain from the chaos of school or work, and into the realm of beats, fills and rhythm.

Individual Learning Styles

As a teacher, one of the most important things I have learnt is to adapt to each students unique learning style. Some are visual learners, some prefer to figure it out by ear, some are left handed, some are right, and some are both!

Having a space that facilitates all these different brains is very important, so the room is filled with different tools to allow me to adapt to each of my students needs.

Including, but not limited to;

Speaker system, Printer, Whiteboard, Laptop, Mute pads, A fully serviced (loud) acoustic kit, a mesh skin (quiet) acoustic kit, and sound absorbent panels.

Recording Facilities

Besides being a dedicated teaching space, the studio is fitted with microphones and an interface for those students who choose to record their own playing. One of the fastest ways to improve as a player is to listen back to your own recordings. By sending the signals to a DAW on my computer, we can take a look (or a listen) at what we need to focus on to improve as a player and musician.
